When you think of Honda one of the first things that will come to mind is the incredible longevity and impressive value of the vehicles bearing the iconic logo. Part of what enhances the value of these vehicles and keeps them running so well is the impressive fuel efficiency that comes from the exceptional engineering within. But all of that pales in comparison to Honda's goals for the future, a future that could be reality in well-under five years. All of this comes thanks to the Honda Electrification Initiative, which looks to deliver a more promising future for drivers everywhere.
In the next two years, more than half of all new models will be electrified vehicles, making Honda among the boldest pioneers of a more efficient future. Also announced was a new, dedicated hybrid model, which will not only be made here in America, but will also launch sometime in 2018. But Honda didn't stop there, the automotive titan also dropped the revelation that its innovative two-motor system, currently seen in the Accord Hybrid, will be applied to the light truck lineup.
While the terms "light truck lineup" were used, upon examining the entire Honda lineup we can see that there is only one light duty truck, the Honda Ridgeline. Does this mean we can expect a Ridgeline Hybrid in the future? Or will there be another impressive addition to Honda's stable of incredible vehicles that we can expect?
Here at Honda of Westport, we're incredibly excited at the potential offered by yesterday's announcements. And we're ready to help you get into the ideal hybrid vehicle as soon as you'd like, so come and see our team, and we'll do our part to help you get into an exceptional new Honda hybrid model so you can enjoy the roads of Westport, Stamford, Norwalk, and beyond in an unrivaled vehicle.
