In the past three years, Honda has dedicated a total of $2.7 billion to its North American operations. This sum includes a recent investment by the Japanese automaker specifically geared toward the development of powertrain operations, in Ohio. The venture, which totals $215 million, will be split in sums of $180 million and $35 million to Honda's Anna, OH engine plant and main operations in Marysville, OH, respectively.
"For the 21st century of manufacturing, we believe our success will be defined by the successful interaction between our associates and technology," explains Rick Schostek, senior vice president of Honda North America, Inc.1
The investments to the Anna and Marysville, Ohio locations will be a great benefit to the Honda engineers, equipment service technicians and line-side associates already employed at the facilities. They will be able to further polish their skills and improve their technical-savvy in a hands-on way.
