2018 Honda Odyssey Recognized Among Safest Cars On Road

The Honda Odyssey has been recognized by two of the top automobile safety ranking agencies, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration* and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, as one of the safest vehicles on the road today. That claim derives its truth from the fact that the newest iteration of this new Honda received the highest scores possible for each respective safety ranking agency.

Honda Odyssey: An IIHS Top Safety Pick+ Rated Van

The new Honda Odyssey earned a 2017 Top Safety Pick + rating thanks to earning good ratings in all the following categories for crashworthiness:

  • Side Test
  • Head Restraint Test

In addition to stellar crashworthiness rankings, the new 2018 model year Odyssey gets two new safety additions that make it even safer: Honda Sensing and LED headlights. What's more, the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ in the 2018 Honda Odyssey has earned an IIHS ranking of superior, thanks to how it performed in collision avoidance tests.

Honda Odyssey: A NHTSA 5 Star Vehicle

This new Honda minivan not only earns top scores from the IIHS but also the NHTSA*. This ranking agency deemed the 2018 Honda Odyssey minivan worthy of a 5-star ranking in it's New Car Assessment Program or NCAP. The NHTSA derived this aggregate score from 5 star rankings in frontal crash tests for both front passengers, 5 star rankings for side crash test ratings for front and rear seats, 5 star pole test rankings, and more.
